RB, the graph shows there was no need to go to war in order to achieve the same ends as a hudna. The spike in deaths that would be Operation Cast Lead would represent additionally the pissing away of Israel’s political capital among Arab nations, the destabilization of our alliance with Turkey, the estrangement of the Palestinian leadership from negotiating in full faith, and 1,300 lives including a dozen Israelis.
The Gaza war was a waste of blood and tears. They could have got the same ends by loosening (even modestly) the Gaza blockade and extending the hudna.
