I am tickled to see the Bereaved Parents’ Circle publish a calendar of political cartoons about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I believe in the power of humor to carve truth from rhetoric and turn the most depressing topics into sources of laughter. I believe in making fun of the Holocaust and anti-semites; Hamasniks and IDF heroes; Jews and their Gentile rulers. It’s both therapy and advocacy.
My weapon of choice is a joke in itself, LOLcats, recaptioned pictures of cute fuzzies in an irreverent Middle East conflict light. And thus: Lo! I bring you Occupation LOLcatz, Gaza War Edition!

Ah! Something unabashedly biased!
I’m as biased as the conflict is assymetric! Well, less biased than THAT perhaps. Meaning, I will always disagree with another round of military operations that never solve anything anyway. That’s my bias.
I don’t get the first one. Are you saying that Israelis are really setting off bombs and blowing themselves up, and blaming it on Hamas?
Joe, I’m saying that so long as you claim Hamas was “in” something, you can damage it however much you want.
Put another way, Hamas is useful to self-justify any wartime action.
